About Me

Hello! Welcome to my webpage! My name is Myc. Recently, I've gotten a little sick of the modern internet, with all its facebooks and youtubes and sites-formerly-known-as-twitters. It all seems very centralized and consolidarily dictatorial. So, instead of all that, I've elected to carve out my own chunk of the web. Mine... my own... And, knowing nothing about coding or much of anything really technical, I'm using this as a way to practice my web-making skills. Straight out of 1999, baby! Retro shit, you feel me?

What I'm trying to accomplish here:

• Grow techincal proficiency
• Make a home for myself somewhere online - something that's truly my own
• Learn some CSS after this, to make the place look nice and pretty
• Oh! Maybe host some of my photography.

[As an aside, I tried to make a website using... oh I don't know, Wix? Uh... one of those "build your website super easy! We'll host it, and we've got a whole host of templates for you to choose from!" kind of sites. The ones owned by Israeli companies. You know the ones. Well anyways, I didn't want to use them anymore so I let my subcription with them lapse. Now I'm using Neocities! I can't host super high quality photos, I only have a gig of space to work with. However, I might, if I end up liking having my own site, start paying for my spot. It's like 5 bucks a month, I think? Really not that expensive - and they boost your available data by 50x! I'm a little wary of the whole thing because... who's paying for it? There are several million sites they host, apparently. That's a lot of band width and traffic! Who's maintaining all that infrastructure? Who knows. I sure dont. But I may as well contribute, if I'm going to be using it.]
